ASIC Payment Alert

If you receive a letter, email or notice about your company annual review or business name renewal, please take a moment to check it carefully before making payment. 

ASIC has warned that some businesses are receiving unsolicited correspondence from third-party providers offering to complete ASIC-related renewals or reviews. These notices can look official and may be mistaken for correspondence from ASIC, but they are not issued by ASIC. 

Some providers may charge an additional service fee on top of the ASIC fee, and the wording or layout of the notice can make it appear urgent. Receiving a notice does not necessarily mean that payment is due, or that you need to use the provider who contacted you. 

Before paying, check who sent the notice, whether the renewal or review is actually due, and whether the amount includes extra service fees. Be cautious if the notice looks like an invoice, asks for urgent payment, offers an early payment discount, or appears to come from a third-party provider rather than ASIC directly.
